Whilst I’m always the first to say how much I enjoy the post-production side of photography, it can sometimes be a bit tricky with distractions, computer glitches, brain fog or just generally not being in the right frame of mind. I understand all of that and more!

Today, I sat here thinking how much music played such an important part in my entire creative process. Many of you will have joined me in the studio for a styled group shoot and will have noticed how I use music to lift the energy in the studio - or calm it down. Generally, the younger the model, the calmer the music and visa-versa. As a contrast, the Vintage Burlesque event playlist had us all bopping away with the high energy tempo from some of the fabulous old Jazz greats!

When it comes to editing images, I know that my best work is usually always inspired by another kind of otherworldly musical vibe that sends me off into a place full of imagination and magic… kind of like going to Hogwarts I suppose!
